You would hardly think it was the same mushroom. I’ve never seen one like this before. It makes me think of fairies.

And let’s have a quick bird tale. Yesterday on the fence.

In the last image, the lorikeet is all spread out to make himself look bigger. Another landed a split-second later. The sun was shining on the curtains.

Wouldn’t eat those mushrooms if you paid me. Hope Rob’s mum is well. You are gadding around lately. I’ve been having trouble with BigPond the last couple of days, really driving me nuts, especially as I checked online and they said their were no problems in the area. Even tried with non Telstra mobile phone to access my emails same thing happened. Have a little inbox app. that I can get stuff through, which is what I am sending this through (if it works), but it doesn’t have access to “my folders”. Will probably show up as anonymous on your site.

    • Hello Sue, yes it worked, and you are Sue but it still went to ‘pending’. Rob’s mum is well. We aren’t going anywhere until the springtime now! You’ll need to speak to Telstra to sort out your problem – they’re usually pretty good with that. Go into your email settings on your device or pc and make sure you have the little box ticked to receive mail with the email address you are using. I use Firefox’s Thunderbird for my main email. I use Outlook on my phone and gmail on my tablet!

  2. Hi Barbara. They probably are edible, but I wouldn’t touch them with a ten-foot pole! No doubt they would look more appealing if they hadn’t been soaked. There’s a mass of large pale orange mushrooms further up the road. Risky business determining what one can eat or not. The supermarket tried selling different types of mushrooms recently, scary looking plain white frilly things and some long skinny things — shudder — no way! Just the ‘ordinary’ mushrooms for me.

Lol, frilly things, I must agree with you, even though they are supposed to taste really good I just cannot make myself try those things that look something from a sci-fi movie. I agree, the ‘ordinary’ ones for me to. We have had mushrooms growing on the nature strip, which look and smell like the real thing, but I wouldn’t risk it. Supermarket or Green Grocer gets my business. Emails are going ok now.
