Smoky Morning Walk

Taken today on my walk with the Nokia 530 windows phone …

We all have wood heaters around here, and these mornings the smoke often hugs the ground.

the sunlight is tinted red by the smoke, the kangaroos were caught by surprise and beat a hasty retreat to the back paddocks

Your cockatoos really love visiting and seem quite part of the family!
We have wood fires around us too, and I do love it that we still are able to have them. The foggy smoke looks terrific!

I love how the light filtered through the smoke.

  2. What do you mean by the wood fires?

I enjoy taking walks with you and the birds have me in awe. To see them so close and have them nearby like you have, would send me. I love birds and these especially. 😀 ❤

Oops, wood fires – I mean heaters burning wood as fuel. Open fires aren’t very efficient, but some around here could have open fireplaces in their homes still.

      1. Oh. 😮 I thought outside. We have outside ones as well as inside.

Ahh, so do we, but nowadays solid fuel fires must be in a proper fireplace, else you are restricted to Saturday burnings only – for entertainment purposes. Have to get permits to burn off rubbish outdoors.

          1. In the outskirts of the city limits, here people don’t but inside the limit, we need permits as well.

Years since I’ve seen smoking hovering over the ground, brings back the smell of the smoke, the chill in the air and the sun rising. Lovely. The cockies look like they have got together for a bit of a gossip.
