Icy wind, but sun shining through stubborn autumn leaves.

    • It’s lovely out as long as I’m rugged up – beanie, scarf, gloves! I’ve had to get my step-count up on the treadmill when it’s been too wet outside this week, but I did some walking in the drizzle one day, when I was sick of the noise on the treadmill.

Normally I love winters, but, went to a funeral on Tuesday, it was like being at the South Pole, icy cold wind, even blew an umbrella to pieces. Sun came out just in time for the interment. Really glad to get back into the car.

    • Goodness, Sue, it doesn’t seem all that long ago you were at another funeral. So sorry to hear another of your family or friends has passed on. Oh well, it is mid-winter. Stay inside if you can, Sue.

  2. Love the photo, Christine. The brightness of those few leaves really stand out against the starkness of the bare branches. I agree about treadmills. I haven’t got one, but even at the gym, the noise drives me mad.

We once went to an art show in Denver CO for a painter whose technique looked very much like this photo…all the crossing lines were drizzled paint and it was quite fascinating…I liked his paintings very much…and your photo.

    • Wow, that’s some reaction. I looked at it a bit harder and I think it’s because of the other elements within it, once you look past the leaf and those first jumbled branches. It’s so busy with branches and trunks growing in all directions, and then the straight lines of the footbridge railing cutting across, as well as the greenery hinting at things you cannot see. It really looks three-dimensional. Thank you, Janet.
